Our Team
Chris Ekron
With qualifications in Education and a Master’s in Sport Management, Chris combines academic depth with practical experience gained from working across school and professional sport environments. His research explores the critical role of mentorship and holistic development in the student-athlete journey. Guided by a belief in the transformative power of education, Chris continues to shape the landscape of youth sport through research, leadership, and mentorship—empowering others to unlock their full potential.
Charles Post
His background in both professional sport and the business sector has given him valuable insight into leadership, communication, and culture building. Charlie’s philosophy is rooted in the idea that developing strong people leads to strong teams. Passionate about using sport as a vehicle for personal growth, Charlie works to create systems that equip young individuals—and those who guide them—to perform, connect, and lead with purpose.
James Kavese
With two diplomas in Sport Management and currently completing a third in Sport and Leisure Management, James possesses a comprehensive understanding of the sports industry from both operational and developmental perspectives. His approach emphasizes sustainability and long-term impact, and he is committed to implementing strategies that create positive, lasting transformation within sport systems.
Guided by values of integrity, purpose, and progress, James plays a vital role in ensuring that PlayBook Education’s operations run efficiently while staying true to its mission of empowering those who shape the next generation of athletes.
Thoriso Shihau
His leadership philosophy focuses on empowerment, development, and sustainability—building pathways that help students succeed on the field and beyond. Thoriso’s work continues to shape environments where young people are encouraged to excel, lead, and unlock their full potential.
Khwezi Mqomboti
Khwezi holds a Degree in Sports Management from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). His career reflects a commitment to building balanced, well-rounded learners and supporting schools in creating environments where every child can grow both academically and athletically.
Lucy Chalmers
- I have a background in elite sport, creative strategy, and marketing communications, with a passion for shaping how communication strategies that are sensitive to societal and cultural norms, environments and the unique characteristics of individuals.
- I believe communication is a powerful tool for connection and transformation–vital to personal and athletic development.
- At Playbook Ed, I lead strategic communication across our platforms, translating evidence-based insights into engaging campaigns, content, and events.
